Winter Blues

“Kindness is like snow-it beautifies everything it covers.” Kahlil Gibran. Woke this morning to a nice dusting of snow on the ground and roofs. It’s gone now, by mid-morning. It did make for a little of the beauty of winter before it disappeared. Many don’t like winter; I, for one, as I have aged, understand why seniors go south for the winter.

So here is a portrait I did for a Christmas present. This is Grizzlie Bear, and he is a really cute guy. He lost his left eye, but did not lose his sweet spirit. You can tell he is just the best dog. Sometimes things are better with a few scars and some wear and tear.

Going back to the quote at the time, I hope my paintings engender a little warmth in the heart, and hope the sweet pets I get to paint help make everyone fell more kindly. What we need right now, seems to me, is a whole lot more kindness.

Hope you enjoy the painting. Thanks for looking. In the meantime, as always, stay safe.
