A Canadian House
Good afternoon from my studio in East Nashville. I hope everyone is staying safe in the terrible heat. Looks like we’ll be baking for the foreseeable future. All of which is not good.
I’m happy to say that all three pieces in the Tomato Art Festival show sold. I’m so appreciative of the people who find my art worthy of being a part of their world.
One of the subjects I do, in addition to the pets, is architectural
portraits. I typically do these for folks who want to remember a special place where they live or have lived. I enjoy painting the buildings in a style that’s accurate, but not photographic. I like to think of it as “emotional realism.” In other words, making the structure evocative, not hyper realistic.
This painting was commissioned for a client who’s son went to college in Montreal, and lived in a wonderful place there.
Thanks for looking. Have a good week and please stay safe in the heat.
