Tomato Time, Again
Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. Hope everyone is doing well. I’m late posting this week. No new pet portraits to show, but I have started on pieces for the Tomato Art Fest. Seems like it’s a long time off, but actually it’s only two months, so it was time to get out the tomatoes and get the rust off.
So here’s the first new piece, “Tomatoes with Copper.” I set this little still life up from a small copper pot I’ve had forever, a small vase and a couple of nice, fresh tomatoes from Publix. It’s a 9×12, and I’ll get out the saw and nailer and make a nice frame for it. Looks really good in real life.
For those who don’t know, the Tomato Art Fest is a major event here in East Nashville, and has been for a couple of decades. Thousands of people attend every year and visit the many vendors, food trucks, and, of course, art. This year the event is August 7-8. If you have not been, you should go. It’s quite the experience.
Thanks for looking. See you next week, and have a great week.
