Tomato Fest a’comin’
Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. We are now just a little over a week to the Tomato Art Fest. I turned in my three paintings last weekend. They added to the over 600 paintings this year. It will be the largest art show the festival has ever had. I think that’s wonderful. The festival continues to grow and be a vibrant part of the East Nashville culture.
Here’s my last piece that’s in the show. Okay, it’s strange, for sure. Those of you who follow me regularly may remember I got into a series of black and white cloudscapes sometime back. Really enjoyed doing those, and sold a couple. (Still have a couple if you are interested.)
So I did another one, only this time, I added the tomato touch. This one is titled “Hope.” The symbolism, coupled with the title, is not exactly subtle. Still, I want to believe that even in the darkest, most colorless times, there is hope. And for us, that is embodied in the tomato: a uniter, not a divider.
Look forward to seeing you at the Tomato Art Fest. Thanks, and have a great week.
