Time for Some Rest
Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. It’s a gray, gloomy day, but after all, it is February.
I don’t get into my personal situation much here; kind of not my thing. But I want to let you know I’m taking the month of March off from painting. Because of a confluence of events, I had 17 pet portraits to paint between Thanksgiving and mid February. I am very grateful for the business, in fact, honored. However, while working on the last portrait I finished (which I’ll post today), I realized I was totally burned out on the pet portraits. Frankly, I don’t know if this is just from the residual fatigue of my holiday work, or, if after four and a half years of doing almost nothing but pets, the well is just dry. I’m going to take this next month to reflect, rest and see what happens. Therefore, I will not be posting until the first of April, when I’ll at least update you on where things are. In the meantime, thank you so much for your support during the years.
Here’s Sapphire, a really cute girl I finished a few days ago. Hope you enjoy.
Thanks for looking; stay safe.
