On A Sunny Winter Day

Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. Hope everyone is well this morning. I see a glimmer of sunshine, so maybe we can all shake off those wintertime blues.

I got to do something a little bit different for a Christmas present this year: a horse. I’ve painted horses in the past, but have not done one in a long time. This was a memorial piece as a present to the person who had Mercedes. I’ve never had the opportunity to be close to a horse, but I understand the attachment is at least as powerful between the human and the horse as it is between the human and a dog. Some might say even more powerful. In any event, I understand the young lady to whom the portrait was given loved it, so that’s what really matters to me.

Thanks for looking. Stay safe and warm during this winter.
