It’s A Heat Wave, A Tropical Heat Wave

Good afternoon from my studio in East Nashville. Hope everyone is surviving this “heat dome.” Those of us from here are familiar with these kind of summers. In fact, the record highs for these days in July occurred when I was only six months old. While I don’t remember that (obviously) I’ve been exposed to this kind of heat since an infant. My family in New York got hit with 100 degree heat, and they aren’t used to it. I hope this system will finally move out soon.

I’ve had a new commission taking advantage of my 10% discount until the end of August. No would be a good time to order a portrait. As you may recall, I also do portraits of houses and the occasional person. Ah, shucks, I’ll paint anything you want.Let me know if I can help you.

I’ve had this lyric from Don Henley’s “The Heart of the Matter” going around in my head all day.

Ah, these times are so uncertain
There’s a yearning undefined
And people filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive
In such a graceless age?

I like to think my pet portraits give a little tenderness to my clients.

Don’t forget the Tomato Art Festival is just around the corner. Hope to see you there.

Have a good week; stay cool and safe. Thanks for looking.
