A Rare Pencil Drawing

Good morning from East Nashville. I hope everyone is well. I got an opportunity to do something that I have not done in a long time: a pencil drawing of a pet. Full disclosure, I also did a large portrait of this girl, and the drawing was just something extra. Still, it was fun breaking out the pencils and erasers and blenders. I never really had a feel for charcoal, but always loved graphite. In fact, I usually made new students start with the pencils, since that was a great way to learn how to shade and make forms without the pressure of color mixing.

So here’s the drawing of Sasha.

I’ll post the painting in the new future. Hope you enjoy; stay well and safe.
