It’s Coming Up on Tomato Festival Time

Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. Hope everyone made it through last week’s “heat dome” awfulness. So unpleasant when the temperature and humidity are both off the charts.

Believe it or not, it’s only five weeks until the 2025 Tomato Art Festival here in East Nashville. The festival has grown so much since it’s humble start, it’s almost hard to believe.

I’ve got three pieces that will be in the art show, and I’ll start showing them today. This one is “Mardi Gras “Mater.” The alternative name could be “Fat Tuesday Tomato,” but I think the first title has a better ring to it.

Also, because there is no adequate space for the art show at Five Points, the art show this year will be at the Main Street Gallery at 625 Main Street. The festival is running shuttles all day, so you won’t have to walk in the heat. There is always the preview party the Friday night before as well. Make you plans to attend.

Also, this is a good time to commission a pet portrait or other art work from me; the first part of the summer is always slow.
