A Gorgeous Morning

Good morning from my studio in East Nashville. It’s a gorgeous morning here; the sun is shining brightly; the air is a little cool and crisp. It’s just a day that makes you want to smile.

Here’s this week’s portrait. This is Simba. The portrait is a memorial done for a friend. I’m told Simba was a fantastic friend to the family, a truly marvelous companion gone too soon. You can tell from his sweet face that he was a great friend.

I’m always saddened to do a memorial, and at the same time, honored to do one. I like to think the portraits will help keep the good memories of the friend alive forever.
